Elijah the Lost Fairy Prince.

Some people wish for a story with a happy ending. This story has no ending, it is about a dream come true and a love that never ends.

Once upon a time, in a faraway land where magical things were bound to happen, under skies of cotton candy clouds and a warm smiling sun, a young fairy prince named Elijah stood alone and lost in a forest far from his home. Although he was not scared and was having fun chasing toads and watching squirrels race up the oak trees, Prince Elijah wanted to find his way back. He had been out on a scavenger hunt collecting smooth skipping stones when he realized that he was no longer in the Fairy Wonderland Forest where he lived in the Great Twin Oak Trees.

Prince Elijah wandered without knowing where the dusty path would lead him. After some time, he came to a glistening blue pond. When Prince Elijah looked down into the pond he smiled seeing his own cheeky grin in the reflection of the mirror-like water. He stuck out his tongue, pulled at his cheeks and twisted his face up laughing at each silly new face that he made that was looking back at him.

A rustle in the bushes behind Prince Elijah caught his attention and when he turned around, Prince Elijah was again looking at his own reflection, although this time something was very different…Prince Elijah froze…his reflection froze…and then Prince Elijah slowly walked toward the fairy prince boy with the same baby blue eyes and curly blonde hair until he was face to face with him. Prince Elijah blinked his eyes and then with a curious grin, said “Hello, I am Prince Elijah. I don’t know you, but I feel like we have met before…” The fairy prince across from him, which was not just a reflection but actually another fairy prince by the name of Lucas, said “My name is Prince Lucas and I have seen you before…when I’ve looked at my reflection in the glistening blue pond behind you.”

Prince Lucas noticed that Prince Elijah’s face was smiling, but he had a sadness in his eyes. He said, “You look kind of sad. What is the matter?” Prince Elijah shuffled his tiny bare feet in the soft mossy green grass and told Prince Lucas that he was lost and searching for his way home. Prince Lucas perked right up and pulled small brown leather pouch out of his pocket. “I can help you! I have my compass that will always take me wherever I need to go.” Prince Lucas explained how he was given this as gift by the wise Old Mother Owl when he was just a wee little fairy. Old Mother Owl had explained how this special compass worked and that it knew what your heart was feeling and would help you to find your way, where every that may be. Prince Lucas pulled his compass out of the pouch and popped open the shiny golden cover, revealing a mystical gadget. Prince Lucas could feel in his heart how much Prince Elijah wanted to find his way back home and he let the compass do the work and guide them. The little red arrow spun wildly and then suddenly stopped, telling the boys to go north.

Prince Lucas and Prince Elijah made a plan to walk together, following the compass until Prince Elijah had found his way back home. Shortly after the boys started walking, their ears perked up at the distant soft sound of horse hooves coming closer, steady as a heartbeat. A moment later, two horses pulled up pulling a sweet chariot which could only be to take Prince Elijah home. The fairy princes eagerly jumped in the chariot and off they went. With the compass as their guide, the boys bumped and bounced along the stony path in the chariot, amazed by the magical feeling of everything that was happening. In the blink of an eye, the chariot was on a path that looked very familiar to Prince Elijah. He glanced around and saw that he was indeed back home in the Fairy Wonderland Forest.

Grinning from ear to ear, Prince Elijah leaped out of the chariot, oh so grateful to be back home where he belonged. There was a magical sense of excitement and joy in the young fairy’s heart. He was home at last and had found his identical fairy twin, a special friend that he would have forever. Prince Lucas and Prince Elijah were both so happy to have found each other! They felt like they had found the long lost twin brother that each prince never knew he had. Sometimes the best things in life come along when you least expect them.

To My Fairy Prince Elijah

“Nobody knows how to say goodbye, it seems so easy ‘til you try.”

You will always be with me, no matter where I go. I love you so much. You are mine and I will always remember you. Until we meet again my sweet boy…

Love, Mom
