Makenna Marie Pauley
January 1, 2011 – October 4, 2023
Born on the first day of the year, Makenna was a burst of light from the very beginning. She was a proud big sister to Mason, always ready with a funny nickname or a teasing laugh. Together they shared fireworks on their holiday birthdays, as if the whole world was celebrating with them.
At home, Makenna was spirited, hilarious, and full of life—talking in silly voices, mastering impressions, and filling rooms with her loud, joyful energy. She loved music, fashion, and video games, but her favorite moments were simple ones: riding in the car with her mom or dad, music turned up, watching the sky, and of course always trying to convince her parents to stop at Caribou for a special drink. She treasured her cats, Penny and Nani, and dreamed of traveling to warm beaches and faraway places. Her phone was filled with colorful sunsets—capturing the beauty in this world that she always seemed to chase.
Makenna had a heart that cared about what mattered. She took pride in being a good friend and stood up for what was right. Though her life ended far too soon, her spirit is not gone. It lingers in laughter remembered, in sunsets she would have stopped to capture, and in the love she gave so freely. Makenna’s light continues on in the hearts of all who carry her memory
