MEMA

I’m Grand Fairy Mema and I have a lucky elephant I want you to know.

She’s my good friend and companion wherever we go.

Her trunk is always pointed up and if you’re ever stuck

She’ll help you get through anything with confidence and good luck.

When you are sad, she’ll play you the piano or bells

And sit by your side until you are happy and well.

If you get married, she’ll make you the most fantastic cake

And decorate it with love, sprinkles, or even gold flakes.

She’ll be along for the ride as you travel and see the sights

Or send you a post card – once, twice, or thrice.

When it’s cold outside or you’re down in the dumps

She’ll sew you a memory blanket to help get you out of your slump.

She’ll gladly meet you for a feisty game of cards

Or be cheering in the stands as you hit one out of the yard.

If you think she’s too good to be true -- you may be right

But I’m sharing my lucky elephant so she can keep bringing you delight!

In loving memory of Judy Harmon, aka Mema.

Mom to seven, grandmother to 11, great-grandmother to 12 (and growing) and adoptive mom/grandma/friend to countless others. Throughout the years Judy shared her time and talents playing the organ, piano, and bells at many churches throughout the area. During her retirement she often played the piano at various nursing homes and volunteered for hospice care services. Judy loved to be in the kitchen baking or sewing quilts for family and friends. Throughout her lifetime, she also made many wedding cakes; she enjoyed making beautiful creations for people on their special day, and no endeavor was too big or small for her. Judy’s generosity touched many lives whether she sent a card in the mail to remember a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or delivered a small gift, or simply offered her time with a visit. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. She took her grandchildren on vacations and attended their sporting events and school functions whenever she could. And everyone knew Judy loved and collected elephant figurines!
